John Perry Piano Master Classes

Pianist John Perry, Professor of Music at the University of Southern California and internationally renowned artist, performer and teacher, will be in Ireland to give a five-day series of piano master classes and perform in the SMS 2008 International Festival. Mr. Perry has won numerous awards including the highest prizes in both the Busoni and Viotti international piano competitions. He enjoys an outstanding reputation as a soloist, collaborator with many of the world's finest instrumentalists, recording artist and teacher. He presents master classes throughout the world and is sought after as a jury member at many of the most prestigious international piano competitions. His students have been prize winners in many of the major piano competitions, including the Naumburg National Chopin competition, the Rubinstein and the Beethoven Foundation.
Note: All piano students wishing to attend the first day of John Perry's Master Classes, should plan to arrive for classes on Monday, August 4th.
Ten advanced (senior/pre-professional) piano students will be selected as performers into the class. In addition, other distinguished musicians on the SMS 2008 faculty will be assisting pianists in preparing for their master class performances. All piano students, at any level, will be encouraged to attend master classes and will have the opportunity to perform for Mr. Perry.

Please enclose a personal cv or résumé and a tape or cd of a recent performance. Alternatively, auditions may be arranged in Dublin or Cork.
