The remarkable development of Summer Music on the Shannon as an internationally preferred destination for musicians and music students, would not have happened without the singular attraction of the beautiful University of Limerick campus and superb facilities.

The growth in Summer Music on the Shannon programmes and numbers of participants has, in return, resulted in SMS creating summer employment opportunities for University of Limerick students, a number which is expected to reach at least thirty in the current Strategic Plan. These include teaching and programme assistants in the instrumental and opera programmes, student supervisors, recreation and art assistants, and service staff.
